The Whiskey: Gourmet Burgers, Craft Cocktails and Rock N'Roll

  • November 09, 2016

Gourmet burgers, craft cocktails, and Rock N’ Roll. That’s what The Whiskey is all about. Locally owned and situated on Sand Lake’s “Restaurant Row”, the Whiskey is both an epic watering hole and a foodie’s dream. At such a short drive from the Vista Cay Resort, we love this restaurant for so many different occasions! Lunch, dinner, happy hour, after dinner drinks, live music…you name it, The Whiskey’s got it!

If you’re in search of a drink, The Whiskey’s cocktail menu offers up some classics as well as many of their own concoctions. You’ll find Martinis and Manhattans alongside The Whiskey’s own twists on the Gin Fizz or the Moscow Mule. I sampled their Blueberry Collins, extra tasty with fresh lemon, lime and orange zest.

If you’re a fan of whiskey, this should obviously be your new favorite bar. I mean, please reread the name of the restaurant if you have to. The Whiskey offers over 250 types of whiskey, bourbon and scotch, and you may even find some of these making their way into your food! Stop by the bar from 4-7 PM Monday through Friday for Happy Hour, with deals on wells, calls, beer and appetizers.

The Whiskey offers some appetizers to share, sandwiches, and salads, but if you are a fan of burgers, you’ll be blown away by all of the amazing options on The Whiskey’s menu. I opted to try the burger bearing their namesake, “The Whiskey” with smoked provolone cheese, whiskey onions, bourbon bacon, and dill aioli. This burger was absolutely AMAZING. Cooked perfectly to my liking, the burger itself was tender and juicy, and the creamy dill aioli sat perfectly atop of crispy bacon. A must try! Pair it with their truffle parmesan fries, and you’ll have an absolutely delicious meal. Their menu of burgers is quite impressive, with creative toppings like poached pear, bacon and Brie on “The Salty Pear”, and homemade pimento cheese and fried green tomatoes on “The Southerner”.

Not only does The Whiskey offer an insanely good food and drink menu, but they also have live music seven days a week! The atmosphere at The Whiskey is super fun on any day of the week, but check it out on Friday nights for two chances to see some rock n’ roll play, from 7pm-9pm and again from 10pm-1am. If you’re at the bar, you’ll get to be a part of their open-air kitchen and watch as the chefs prepare your meal. At about a fifteen-minute drive from Vista Cay, this is the perfect place to gather with friends for some delicious food, drinks, and live music. The Whiskey checks all of the boxes for an awesome night out in Orlando. Pull up a chair at the bar and experience it for yourself!
