The Orlando Eye Construction Update

  • November 11, 2014

The giant observation wheel being constructed on International Drive has an official name now: The Orlando Eye. The $200 million I-Drive 360 complex will be home to the giant attraction and is modeled after the world famous London Eye in the United Kingdom. Riders will soar 400 feet into the air for a bird’s eye view of Central Florida and an opening date will be set for sometime in late Spring 2015. Guests can already enjoy some of the restaurants at I-Drive 360 including Yard House, Carrabba’s Italian Grill, and Outback Steakhouse. Also to be featured in the complex will be Madame Tussauds Wax Museum and Sealife Aquarium. The 25,000 square foot aquarium will feature a 12 foot deep, 360 degree ocean tunnel that will be home to sharks, sea turtles, seahorses, octopus, sting rays, and jelly fish plus a large array of saltwater fish. The Vista Cay Resort is about 7 minutes from this attraction by car and right off International Drive!
