ICE! at the Gaylord Palms Featuring A Charlie Brown Christmas

  • December 06, 2016

ICE! at the Gaylord Palms Resort is back and better than ever this year! This whimsical event comes to Orlando every year during the holidays, turning the Gaylord Palms Resort into a beautiful winter wonderland with over two million pounds of hand carved ice sculptures. This year, ICE! features “A Charlie Brown Christmas” appealing to kids, as well as those of us who are kids at heart!

From the minute you step into ICE! you’ll feel like you’re a part of the Charlie Brown Christmas special. The ice sculptures take you through iconic scenes from the cartoon, like Charlie Brown’s lack of Christmas cards, Snoopy’s decorated doghouse, and the kids practicing for their Christmas play. The gang’s all here, so keep your eyes out for Lucy, Linus and Pig-Pen!

In addition to the Charlie Brown Christmas story, ICE! features four ice slides, a beautiful nativity scene, and “On the Blocks”, an ice bar for the over 21 crowd. After you’ve made your way through ICE!, you can explore the rest of the Alpine Village. Warm up with a hot cocoa, slide down the snow-covered hills at Alpine Rush Snow Tubing, or test your snowball aim with the target challenge. There’s a special Christmas tree light show in the hotel lobby atrium, and you can even meet Santa himself!

This attraction is great for the whole family, especially those who may not get to experience a “White Christmas” this year. The walk-through experience is kept at a chilly 9 degrees, so bundle up with those layers! The Gaylord will provide you with a bright blue parka to keep you warm throughout your trip through Charlie Brown’s town, which also makes for a super fun photo-op. You’ll get all the fun of a wintry wonderland, but still be able to enjoy that warm Florida weather once you make your way back to your room at the Vista Cay Resort!

Those of you who have visited Orlando in the past will surely remember the wonderful Downtown Disney, a part of the Disney World Resort. This area, featuring bars, restaurants and specialty stores, was a wonderful way to escape the parks for a day.

When visiting Orlando, there is so much to see and do beyond the theme parks. With beautiful weather all year round, its nice for our visitors to get out and about and enjoy what Orlando has to offer.
