Craft Brewery and Local Merchants at Plant Street Market

  • August 24, 2016

When our staff goes on vacation, we love to hit up local spots for food and drinks. I’ll admit, I do hit all the tourist attractions when I visit a new city, but I think the best way to experience a new place is to combine those two mindsets. Yes, I’m going to see a play on Broadway in New York City, and yes, I want a picture of myself holding up the leaning tower of Pisa. But when it comes to my meals, I like to ditch the chain restaurants and opt for something more fresh. We recommend the Plant Street Market, as Winter Garden’s newest hub for fresh Florida foods.

The Plant Street Market is such a hidden gem for both tourists and locals to discover! The market has been open for just over a year, but is already a local favorite. This is the perfect place to come get a taste (literally) of how the Orlando locals live.

The market is open 7 days a week and is located right in Downtown Winter Garden on Plant Street. The big draw into the market is the Crooked Can Brewery, with tons of local brews on tap. Grab a pint to sip outside under the pine trees, or enjoy it during your walk around the market perusing the other stalls.

Elsewhere in the market, you’ll find a butcher, a baker, artisan tea and coffee, pizza, sushi, organic skin care products and candles, a farm to table restaurant, and so much more! There’s even a flavored oxygen bar if you care to try out something different!

The Plant Street Market is open 7 days a week and is located about 25 minutes from the Vista Cay Resort. On Saturdays, you will find the market to be busiest, as it is located right next door to the Winter Garden Farmers Market, occurring weekly on Saturdays from 9 am- 2 pm. Combining the two markets would be an awesome way to spend a half-day Saturday to get a relaxing break from the parks!

A trip to the Vista Cay Resort can be a very relaxing escape for our guests. But when you’re on vacation, it’s easy to fall into a routine of…dare I say it…laziness. After all isn’t that what vacation is for?

Universal is gearing up for their famous annual event Halloween Horror Nights. On select nights from September 16 to October 31, the Universal Studios theme park will be transformed into a haunted attraction for its guests.
